Well, here it is. My first album. I know that I'm only 6 but that does not matter. It really only started when I was thinking of the first song's chorus while running across the rough concrete of the grade 1 yard. And then it turned into an everyday project. And then I finished it. And then everybody in my family started listening to it. And then my mom's friends started listening to it. A lot of "and thens", I know. But here it is, and you can listen to it now.

A note from my awesome papa:
Leo is a unique child.

He started playing drums when he was 2 and by 3 he could play most of The Beatles catalogue.

He is in the TDSB and was going into first grade this school year. His school is overpopulated, and he was removed from his class in mid-October, and reassigned to a basement lunch room. There were a number of difficulties with the reassignment including not having desks or teaching resources (mostly solved) and ongoing vermin infestation (still an issue). For Leo, however, the biggest bummer of it all was that he no longer got access to go to the music teacher's classroom as his schedule was already fully committed to the amount of classrooms the school expected to have. The music teacher there, Andrew Corbin, recognizing the issue, still volunteered his lunch to come and jam with Leo and they have developed a really sweet friendship through the course of the year.

Leo's musical development was relentless and fiercely independent in the face of everything else pushing against him. He would come home from school and write songs every day while I was working - sometimes on drums or synths, and oftentimes programming in Garageband. He has written over 500 songs of various qualities. It is unreal.

A couple months ago Leo told me he had completed his first album. Producing, recording, playing, mixing, writing... he did it all and was stalwart that not a single change was warranted from his Father (or anyone else's) input. He even (quite clearly) did the artwork.

I asked him if it was OK to share with some folks and people who had supported him/us through the years, and he was excited by the idea. So... this is his first album, made beginning to end only by him, Crazy Enough.

As word was starting to spread about the record, I have had some ask if they could buy it or contribute to his music education or journey in some way... and we are really well-resourced from a musical equipment perspective; and I also checked with Mr Corbin about Swansea and he feels the same about their equipment...

Leo had worked really hard around fundraising for Terry Fox and found the results and helping both really valuable. He studied and taught others about cancer therapies. We raised a significant amount of money.

He and I were discussing if we let people donate what it could go to - and I shared with him about MusiCounts, and how maybe there are kids like him out there that don't have the same resources or a teacher like Mr Corbin who would take the extra time and effort... and he wants to release the album and donate 100% of the proceeds to them.
